Government Imposter Scheme

By Crosslin
December 8, 2016
The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office has recently made the public aware of a lawsuit it filed based on a government imposter scheme.  These scams pop up every few years and we wanted to make sure our customers and colleagues were up-to-date on the latest activity.
Businesses are receiving mailings from an “official looking entity” that can easily be confused as coming from the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office. These fraudulent entities are charging companies for “filings” that are not required.  This particular company has been operating for the last several years in Tennessee.
Here is a link to the full disclosure from the Secretary of State’s office.  Please let them know if you have received similar solicitations.  If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Crosslin team.  We appreciate your business and are happy to help you in any way.
