Richard has a wide range of experience in tax financial analysis and tax budgeting as well as corporate reorganizations and acquisitions. With his extensive experience in federal and state tax planning, Richard is considered an expert in Tennessee taxation and provides expert witness testimony in court. Prior to joining Crosslin, Richard was a partner in the Nashville office of a Big Four firm. Additionally, Richard has been involved in many aspects of the manufacturing industry during his career. He has been an advisor to several start-up ventures and continued with them through the public stock issuance phase. He has also worked with physician groups and joint ventures with both proprietary and not-for-profit hospitals.

Richard has also been instrumental in the education and training in the implementation of tax rules and procedures. He was the partner-in-charge for the first major SALT study ever conducted for Service Merchandise. He also implemented the strategic initiatives, as well as work on merger, acquisition and disposition planning. Richard’s depth of manufacturing experience extends from regional companies to national and inter-national organizations. Clients served by Richard include Fruit of the Loom, Formfit Rogers, Grace & Wylie Steel Fabrications, Feldkircher Wire Company, Inc., and Coreslab Holdings, Inc.

Richard is actively involved in the civic community with an emphasis on quality education for Nashville’s youth. He is on the board and has served as Chairman for the Regional Board of STARS (Students Taking a Right Stand), which promotes drug and alcohol education in our school systems. He has served as an ambassador for the Tennessee Foundation for Independent Colleges and is Chairman of the Tennessee Associates Board of Georgetown College. Richard is also active in the United Way of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberland Valley Girl Scouts Council. Richard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Estate Planning Council of Nashville. An army veteran, Richard graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown College and received an MBA from Indiana University.
